The Mayo LGFA senior team have a new manager.
Diane O'Hora has been ratified by the county board at their meeting tonight (Thursday, August 14). The Ballina woman famously captained Mayo to the county's first All-Ireland senior title in 1999 and went on to win another three finals after that before hanging up her inter-county boots in 2007.
“We are thrilled to confirm Diane as our new senior manager," the statement read.
"Diane’s deep knowledge of the game, her experience at the highest level, and her lifelong commitment to Mayo football make her an outstanding choice to lead our senior ladies team.”
O'Hora was only recently out on the sacred sod of Croke Park with her All-Ireland-winning team mates from 25 years ago.

The Ballina woman takes over from Liam McHale who stepped away in July after two years in charge.
The 2025 season was extremely difficult for Mayo, as many players opted out of the panel for numerous reasons.
This meant the loss of quality and numbers impacted the whole campaign significantly.
Mayo finished bottom of Division 1 in the National Football League, with only one win in seven matches.
The All-Ireland senior championship was over early, Mayo didn't have any win to celebrate.
First, Mayo lost in Kerry, and then Liam McHale's team also lost against Cork at home.
Captain Danielle Caldwell spoke about a 'tough year' after crashing out of the group stage.
Mayo only escaped relegation to the intermediate ranks with a play-off win over Leitrim.

As one of the positives, one Mayo LGFA star claimed a top 10 spot in All-Ireland scoring ranking.
A former Mayo All-Ireland winner and All Star, O'Hora's managerial journey has been an interesting one. She was with Meath before their storied five-year rise to All-Ireland success. There were also stints with Down, Longford, and Roscommon before her latest job as Kildare manager saw the team win the Junior and Intermediate Leinster and All-Ireland titles plus Division 3 and 2 league titles in the space of two years.
Now, she faces into the most exciting challenge of all.
