Belmullet's Ryan O'Donogue will face Charlestown's Paul Towey in battle for senior status.
Belmullet v Charlestown
Saturday, September 28, 4.30pm, Knockmore
This could easily be a quarter-final, instead it is a survival slug-fest where the winner stays up and the loser is halfway through the trap-door to intermediate football. Neither team expected to find themselves in this situation and how they react to the new reality will have a big bearing on the outcome.
Talented players populate both sides but the big questions will be answered in front of the posts by the two Mayo attackers on view. If Paul Towey kicks enough scores for Charlestown they will survive and the same can be said for Ryan O’Donoghue at the other end.
The outcome of this is very hard to predict, but if Belmullet’s attitude is right they might have just enough in the locker to win it.
VERDICT: BELMULLET
