AIDAN O’Shea and Ryan O’Donoghue are the only Mayo footballers to receive All-Star nominations.

The pair are among a shortlist of 45 players dominated by All-Ireland champions Armagh, who have eleven nominees.

O’Shea and O’Donohgue were two of Mayo’s standout performers in a season which saw them lose the Connacht final to Galway by a point and exit the championship on penalties to Derry in the preliminary quarter-final.

O’Shea already has three All-Stars to his name (2013, 2015 and 2017) while O’Donoghue was a winner in 2021.

The Breaffy man scored 1-5 in the 2024 provincial and All-Ireland championships from full-forward while the Belmullet attacker finished as Mayo’s top scorer with 3-48 in the Connacht and All-Ireland campaigns.

The All-Star nominations were chosen by a panel of Gaelic games journalists from across, print, radio, TV and digital media.

The PwC All-Stars awards ceremony will be shown live on RTÉ at a special banquet in the RDS on Friday, November 1 to mark the 140th anniversary of the formation of the GAA.
