Netflix have confirmed that a tell-all documentary about the 2015 killing of Limerick man and father-of-two Jason Corbett is set to be released on their platform in the coming weeks.
Titled 'A Deadly American Marriage', the documentary is going to explore "the many questions that have lingered since the shocking events of that night," said a representative of Netflix in a statement.
Mr Corbett, a widower, found love with American au pair Molly Martens in 2008. The couple moved from Limerick to North Carolina "to build a new life together" with Jason's young children, Jack and Sarah.
All was going well for the two until one day, in August of 2015, when 39-year-old Jason was found beaten to death in his home. This resulted in the arrest and conviction of Molly Martens and her father Thomas, a former FBI agent.

However, the pair were granted an appeal and able to avoid a retrial after admitting to voluntary manslaughter. Due to accepting this plea deal, the murder charges were dropped.
In November 2023, both Molly and her father were sentenced to a minimum of four years and three months in prison but these sentences included time that was already served. As a result, Molly and Thomas were released from prison in June 2024.
Also featured in this programme doing exclusive interviews will be Jason's children, Jack and Sarah Corbett, along with Molly Martens and her father Tom.
Directed and produced by Jessica Burgess and Jenny Popplewell , 'A Deadly American Marriage' will explore the mystery behind Jason Corbett’s death and the bitter debate of the custody of his children, Jack and Sarah, who were just 8 and 10 at the time of his death.
The documentary will be released on Friday, May 9.
