Mayo panel announced ahead of National Football League opener

The Mayo LGFA senior team travel to Cavan for the opening round of the National League on Sunday at the start of what promises to be an interesting season.

The Green and Red have a 37-woman squad, a new manager and a new captain as they face into the challenges thrown up in Division 2 by Cavan, Wexford, Tipperary, Tyrone, Donegal, Westmeath and Monaghan.

Charlestown's Ella Brennan will captain the team while McHale Rovers's Sinead Walsh will be the vice-captain under new manager Diane O'Hora.

Recent captains Kathryn Sullivan and Saoirse Lally are not in the squad after Sullivan retired and Lally decided to step back from inter-county fare.
