6 movies and TV shows to watch amid Met Éireann's miserable Easter weekend forecast

Here is a compilation of movies and shows to watch this week on Netflix or other streaming services, while most of the country is hit with heavy rain and miserable weather over the next week.

Met Éireann has predicted that rainy weather is set to continue up until next week, so for those looking to get comfy and avoid the bad weather, here's a list of must see shows and movies I think you'll love.

  1. New 'Black Mirror' Season 7 on Netflix:

This one is for sci-fi and dystopian world lovers, with mind-bending plot twists and each episode more shocking than the last, Black Mirror will definitely keep you entertained. This season did not disappoint, as a Black Mirror fan, and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

  2. New 'The Last of Us' Season 2 on Sky Go:

This one may be a bit niche but it is definitely worth mentioning but it is sadly not on Netflix. You can however watch this on Sky Go or HBO.

The Last of Us is a tv series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey and is based off of a popular video game. The plot is based around a young girl living through the end of times, where people have become infected by a deadly fungus. Season 2 has just begun so if you haven't already, I'd very much recommend starting this one.

3. New 'Bad Influence: The dark side of influencing' on Netflix:

Featured in the top 10 programmes in Ireland on Netflix, this documentary style show had me hooked from start to finish. It dives into the world of child influencers on social media and how toxic and damaging it can become. Children from 'The Squad', a popular group on Youtube, come forward to tell their stories as victims of a woman named Tiffany Smith.

4. New 'Love on the Spectrum' Season 3 on Netflix

Love on the spectrum showcases the lives of people with autism as they go on dates trying to find true love. This show is so wholesome and really worth watching. We see Abby and David from season one go on a romantic date together where Abby sings David an original song she wrote just for him. We also see Tanner meet a girl he falls head over heels for after several failed dating attempts and many more updates from the rest of the crew.

5. A simple favour on Netflix:

Number two on films in Ireland, this movie stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick who become the most unlikeliest of "friends" as they both battle being single moms. It was created by the director, Paul Feig, creator of Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters and is perfect for those looking for an entertaining watch.

6. The Office USA on Netflix:

The Office is my all-time favourite show that I can't stop rewatching over and over since I first watched all nine seasons. If you've never heard of it before and are looking for a comedy this one might be the one for you. Steve Carell as office manager 'Michael Scott' cracks me up every time he opens his mouth, so if your looking for silly and outright stupid, this show should succeed in fighting the boredom!
