Auditions this weekend for All-Ireland talent show


WHATEVER your age, whatever your act, wherever you’re from, it’s time to shine for your county, your country, for €50,000.
RTÉ’s hugely successful All Ireland Talent Show is set to return to screens this autumn with GrΡinne Seoige reprising her role as presenter. With a longer run of twelve live shows there is more chance for the weird and wonderful, crazy and wacky amongst the best the country has to offer. So if you feel you can sing, dance, play an instrument, or you simply have an unusual talent, then come along to the auditions in Galway this weekend.
Contestants from all over Mayo are invited to attend the auditions on Saturday next, September 19, at the NUI Galway campus on University Road, Galway.
Applicants from counties Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo will be auditioning.
Last season’s panel of judges will also return; Boyzone’s Shane Lynch who has just finished a successful tour with the band will be checking out the best Dublin has to offer, while Dana will be looking for the cream of the north.
Munster’s John Creedon was just pipped to the post, coming second in last year’s series with seven-year-old hip hop dancer Jack Lynch, so he will be scouring the province looking for an act to take him to the finals again. BlΡthnaid Ní Chofaigh will be representing the east, having secured a Wild Card spot last year she will be looking for an act to take her straight to the final.
And finally,  returning champ Daithí O’Sé (pictured) will be throwing down the gauntlet to the other judges this year having represented two finalists in last year’s Grand Finale. Daithí took first place with the Mulkerrin Brothers who single-handedly reinvigorated traditional Irish music and Sean Nós dancing and he is hoping the west can triumph again this year.
“I am really excited about the auditions this weekend,” Daithi told The Mayo News.
“There is a wealth of eclectic talent out there all along the western seaboard so I am confident we can get someone to take us all the way to the final again.
