Dramatic double bill at The Linenhall

Starring actor par-excellence, Pat Kinevane, Fishamble theatre company presents two riveting nights of theatre at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar: ‘Forgotten’ on  Wednesday, April 10, at 8pm and ‘Silent’ on Thursday, April 11.
Flor wants to bath himself; Dora wants her chowder now; Gustus wants his house back; Eucharia wants to make an announcement… With exhilarating theatricality and haunting honesty ‘Forgotten’ brings to life these sometimes forgotten voices of society in Pat Kinevane’s captivating performance, acclaimed by critics everywhere. As an Irish Times reviewer puts it, ““Drop everything. Book now … captivating, moving and – yes – even unforgettable.”
The brave, bold and beautiful ‘Silent’ received standing ovations at last year’s Westport Arts Festival – if you missed it, be sure to catch this performance. In it, we meet homeless McGoldrig, a man who once had splendid things. But he has lost it all, including his mind. He now dives into the wonderful wounds of his past through the romantic world of Rudolph Valentino.
‘Silent’ has been wowing audiences on an extensive tour both nationally and internationally in Europe and the USA, and was winner of the Fringe First and Herald Angel Awards at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2011, and the Argus Angel award at Brighton Festival 2012.
Written and performed by Pat Kinevane in a tour-de-force double bill directed by Jim Culleton, these two plays seethe with energy and passion. They are typical of Fishamble, a multi-award winning Irish company dedicated to the discovery, development and production of new work for the theatre.

‘Forgotten’ will be staged at the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, on Wednesday, April 10, and ‘Silent’ on Thursday, April 11. Both plays start at 8pm. For tickets (special deal available if booking both shows), contact  094 9023733.
