Thefts in south Mayo

A house has been burgled and a car broken into in the south Mayo area over the last ten days

GARDAÍ are investigating thefts in the south Mayo area after a a house was broken into and a car window was smashed in the last ten days.
Kitchen appliances were taken from a house which was being built in the Ballymartin area. The goods were taken between 9am on Friday, February 5 and 10am on Saturday, February 6. Among the items taken, included a washing machine, a new cooker and an electric hob.
It is not fully understood how the burglars gained access to the house, but it is believed it may have been through the front door.
Meanwhile a car window was smashed in Cornmarket, Ballinrobe at the weekend and a lady’s handbag was stolen from the car.
