THE Football Association of Ireland will confirm today (Tuesday) that Irish soccer manager Giovanni Trapattoni and Marco Tardelli will pay a visit to Croagh Patrick on April 28, less than a month before leaving the country en route to Euro 2012 in Poland. The Republic of Ireland manager will join An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny to take part in his charity fund raising initiative which is being called ‘Enda’s trek with Trap’s Green Army’. In so doing, Giovanni Trapattoni will honour a previous commitment to visit the Reek again if the team qualified for Euro 2012 while helping to raise funds for charity. The initiative will benefit Mayo Mountain Rescue, the John Giles Foundation in Association with Three, Mayo/Roscommon Hospice, the Western Alzheimer’s Association and the Western Care Association. Participants will be urged to wear green and will be able to make a €20 donation to support the five named charities. The walk will depart from Murrisk at midday.
