SOCCER St Gerald’s College, Castlebar won the Connacht U-14 Boys’ title with a 3-0 win over St Joseph’s College, Galway.
St Gerald’s win Connacht title
ST Gerald’s College, Castlebar captured the Umbro FAI Schools Connacht Minor (U-14) Boys’ soccer title with a 3-0 victory over St Joseph’s College, Galway at Milebush Park on Monday. Goals from Gary Walsh, Stephen McDermott and Sam Hastings helped St Gerald’s complete an U-14/U-16 provincial ‘double’. The Castlebar side won’t have long to rest on their laurels, however, as they are due to face Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, Gweedore in the national semi-final at 1pm on Wednesday, March 30. The venue has yet to be confirmed, but it’s expected to take place at the Sligo IT campus in Ballinode.
