AN American man in his 50s was rescued from the side of Croagh Patrick on Tuesday of last week after injuring his leg on the way up the holy mountain.
The man, who was accompanied by his wife and two daughters, pulled a muscle in his upper leg and contacted emergency services.
A Mayo Mountain Rescue team was called to the scene at approximately 1pm and it was decided to send up a stretcher team to help the man.
