The bus service to Ireland West Airport Knock has been significantly improved following the introduction of new routes

The bus service to Ireland West Airport Knock has been significantly improved following the introduction of two new routes which will service the airport on a daily basis. The new Bus Éireann service will see the airport served by three new daily services from Westport and Castlebar on the Westport to Athlone route between Monday and Saturday as well as a new morning service from Ballina. This brings to five the number of services on the Westport-Castlebar route calling at Ireland West Airport Knock from Monday to Saturday and two services on a Sunday The new services will depart Westport each morning from Monday to Saturday at 7.05am, 10.45am and 12.30pm with a single service on Sunday departing Westport at 2pm. The return services will depart Ireland West Airport Knock at 9am, 12.55pm and 6.05pm between Monday and Saturday and departing from Ireland West Knock on Sundays at 11.45am and 2.40pm. The Ballina service - which commenced on June 21 - departs Ballina Bus Station at 8.15am each morning from Monday to Saturday calling at Foxford, Swinford and Charlestown. The return service departs Ireland West Airport Knock at 12.15pm each day calling at the above towns also. Commenting on this news, Donal Healy, Sales and Marketing Manager, Ireland West Airport Knock said they were delighted with the new services and thanked Bus Éireann for the commitment to the airport. “We are delighted to welcome the introduction of these additional bus services with Bus Éireann. The new morning service from Ballina and the additional services from Westport and Castlebar will come as welcome news to people living in towns throughout Mayo who now have excellent public transport access to the airport.” Passengers are reminded that you can save 10 per cent when you purchase your tickets online at www.buseireann.ie.
