THERE'S always a touch of a honeymoon period with a new manager. However, there is a real pep in the step of Mayo supporters in this new era.

Hearing Andy Moran speak is refreshing. His side plays a more expansive brand of football, and there is a sense that the handbrake has been let off.

There is no doubt that the job of Mayo football manager is one of the most demanding in the game.

The spotlight is brighter than the sun, and pressure is akin to that which makes tectonic plates buckle. However, Andy is taking it in his stride.
