Kilmeena v Mayo Gaels
Saturday, September 28, 4.30pm, Tourmakeady
It could have been so different. Kilmeena could have won all three group games, but they didn’t. Mayo Gaels felt they could have beaten Balla last time out, but they didn’t. The time for excuses, hard-luck stories and ‘what-might-have-beens’ is over - not it’s time to deliver the goods when the need is greatest.
Mayo Gaels started the season with a number of players overseas, but they’re home now and well settled into the team. They’ve a powerful midfield and a number of forwards who can locate the sticks, but they haven’t found their rhythm yet.
Kilmeena have been competitive all year. They love to play expansive, hard-tackling, hard-running football. If they do so again on Saturday they’ll be hard beaten.
VERDICT: KILMEENA
