Cathal Kelly from Swinford with a video of him on St Peter's square. He has done it: 118 days, 2,200km, and one pair of boots later, he has reached Rome.
It is the end of a journey on one of Europe's pilgrimage routes, the 'Via Francigena'. The 2,200km long route involves starting in Canterbury in England, with the ferry over to France, and then through the North of France, crossing the Alpes and passing through Switzerland and half of Italy to reach St Peter's square in Vatican City.
Cathal Kelly took it upon himself to cross half of Europe for charity, beating the drum for two organisations via his blog, and accepting donations on his website along the way.
