Seven Mayo players included on The Sunday Game Team of The Year

It was a special day for Andy Moran and for the Mayo Senior Team as they claimed the County’s fourth ever All Ireland victory.

After a disappointing loss to Roscommon in the Connacht Championship, Mayo went the long way as they seemed to gather momentum in the All Ireland Series.

Live on The Sunday Game, the panel consisting of Ciaran Whelan, Paul Flynn, Eamon Fitzmaurice, Cora Staunton, Mark McHugh and Enda McGinley picked the standout team of the year.

Amongst those picked by the panel were seven Mayo players including Sam Callinan, Enda Hession, David McBrien, Jack Carney, Jordan Flynn, Ryan O’Donoghue and Kobe McDonald. Ryan O’Donoghue was also selected as the panel’s Footballer of The Year.

The official team of the year will be announced at the All Star awards which take place in the coming months while the Player of The Year and the Young Player of The Year will also be announced.
