Denis Ó Cróinín - Tuar Mhic Éadaigh

Denis is the epitomy of what a club volunteer should be. He gives so much of himself to CLG Tuar Mhic Éadaigh. He attends every training session and every match. He sorts the the jerseys, carries the water and his heart beats for the team and the club. In essence Denis does whatever is required for the betterment of his club and his community and asks for nothing in return. He has been doing this for more than 20 years and is truly the heart and soul of the club.
Lucy Daly - Davitts

Lucy Daly truly embodies everything that volunteering and community spirit represent. For many years, Lucy has given exceptional service to Davitts GAA and LGFA, with nothing ever too much trouble for her.
Lucy is a constant presence at both men’s and ladies’ games, supporting the club through good days and bad. Her contribution goes far beyond match day. Lucy has volunteered tirelessly through the club lotto, serves on the committee, helped in the club shop, managed the gym, washed jerseys and carried out countless jobs behind the scenes.
Whether first there in the morning or last to leave at night, Lucy can always be relied upon. If something needs doing, Lucy simply gets it done, never looking for praise or recognition.
Lucy’s loyalty, kindness, reliability and years of selfless service have made an immeasurable contribution to Davitts. Few people could be more deserving of a County Volunteer of the Year award.
Donna Ryder - Westport

Donna has been part of the club for many years, first playing herself as a young girl and, over the years, giving so much back to the club she loves.
From playing to coaching the U16 and Minor B teams, as well as taking on Mayo U14 responsibilities, Donna has always been passionate about the game and supporting young players.
Her love for the club shines through in everything she does. She can always be found supporting teams across all ages — from dark winter evenings to summer camps and Gaelic for All. There’s no one around the LGFA who doesn’t know who Donna is!
Donna has selflessly given so much to the club and was a valued member of the Executive Committee for seven years, only stepping down last year.
And, of course, she’s always up for the craic with the girls — especially if there’s a water fight! Donna will be the first one in there!
A true club woman, her dedication and warmth are legendary.
Pat Hession - Garrymore

Pat Hession is the definition of an unsung club hero. Now in his second year as Chairperson, after four years as Vice Chairperson, his commitment goes far beyond any title.
He manages our Junior team and has previously managed our U21 and Minor teams, giving countless hours to developing players at every level.
Pat also works closely with our Senior management, helping recruit coaches and ensuring they have everything needed to succeed.
Pat drives key developments around the grounds, including new pitch fencing, while never hesitating to tackle jobs himself, from painting dugouts to preparing dressing rooms, operating the scoreboard, welcoming visiting teams or simply making sure everything is ready.
Garrymore’s reputation as an excellent venue, and one of the best in Mayo, is built on the dedication of many volunteers, and Pat is a great example of that commitment that makes the club what it is.
Donal Healy - Charlestown

Charlestown Sarsfields GAA Club wish to nominate Donal Healy for the Mayo News Pride of the Parish Award in recognition of almost 30 years of service to our club.
Donal was a decorated player and member of the 2001 County and Connacht Championship-winning side. After playing, he became Chairman of our Bord na Nog club and has been a coach for 10 years.
He has played a role in nurturing talent, strengthening the bonds between Bord na Nog, LGFA and GAA, ensuring no child is left behind and everyone gets equal game time, while fostering the next generation of senior footballers.
If he’s not putting out cones and setting up drills, he’s offering marketing advice to help the club thrive online. Rarely is there a LGFA or GAA game he doesn’t attend, across age groups.
His work has made a difference and helped shape the club into one of Mayo’s flourishing.
Seán McLoughlin - Islandeady

Sean McLoughlin is the absolute heartbeat of Islandeady GAA. Week in and week out, he is our club's unsung hero, dedicating endless time and energy to keep the club running seamlessly.
As Treasurer, he meticulously manages the finances, ensuring the long-term strength and stability of Islandeady GAA.
Yet, Sean’s impact extends far beyond ledger books. On matchdays, he’s the first to arrive to set up the pitch, park cars and take on any task—big or small—to make sure our grounds are ready.
What makes Sean truly special is his generosity with his time, and quiet kindness to all. He works tirelessly behind the scenes without ever seeking recognition or standing in the limelight. Every GAA club relies on volunteers, but Sean goes well above and beyond the call of duty. His quiet dedication makes him absolutely deserving of this recognition.
