Three Kilmeena women, Caragh Ryan, Niamh O’Connor, and Annie Morrin hosted a very successful Tea Day on June 22 in the Kilmeena Community Centre as they raised funds for the Western Alzheimers charity.
The event was met with great community support, with many attending to show their backing and generosity. Local businesses generously contributed spot prizes, while community members baked a variety of delicious treats. Many members of the local prominent West Mayo GAA club also came out in support of the fundraiser while there were plenty of talented local musicians who provided beautiful music throughout the day, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
The trio would like to thank all who helped in the enjoyable Tea Day as well as the sheer generosity of the Kilmeena community, as well as the people who donated online. A total of €2,386 was raised for Western Alzheimers which credit to the trio, turned out to be a fantastic occasion. The organisers would like to express their gratitude for the incredible support and kindness demonstrated by all involved, highlighting the community’s caring and united spirit.
