One Mayo man has been named in the Republic of Ireland U-21 side that is due to face England and Andorra.
Westport native Conor Walsh has been included in manager Jim Crawford’s squad. Walsh, a goalkeeper with Sligo Rovers has made two appearances for the U-21 side in recent times. The former Westport United underage star has made seven appearances this season for Sligo Rovers who recently secured a seventh place finish in the top flight and has featured for the Republic of Ireland at every underage grade.
The Ireland team will go up against a talented England team who have Premier League players such as Rico Lewis (Manchester City), Ethan Rwaneri (Arsenal) and Jamie Gittens (Chelsea) while Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham is also expected to feature.
St Patrick’s Athletic star forward Mason Melia is included in the Irish squad to face England in Birmingham on November 14 before the Boys in green travel away from home as they go up against Andorra on November 18.
