This weekend, the first Mayo game of 2026 is down for decision, as the Green and Red lock horns with Sligo in the FBD League fare.

The competition is always seen as a great chance to get an early viewing of inter-county sides as they gear up to write another chapter of history in the New Year, and this is no different in Andy Moran's first season at the helm of his home county.

Where and when is the game?

The FBD League Round One game between Mayo and Sligo takes place in Father O'Hara Park, on Saturday, January 3, at 1 pm.

Is the game on TV?

The game will be streamed live by Connacht GAA, with access to the stream costing €10. You can purchase the stream pass by clicking here.

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets for the game can be purchased from Universe here. Tickets are priced at €15, with Under-16s going free.

What happened the last time these two sides met?

Both footballing fraternities locked horns in MacHale Park on April 6 with a place in the Connacht final on the line.

The Green and Red were far from impressive, but did enough to progress with Aidan O'Shea and Ryan O'Donoghue combining for 2-7.

How did Mayo fare in the last edition of the FBD League?

The pre-season competition was shelved in 2025, meaning we'll have to peek back to 2024 to see Mayo's last jaunt.

The Connacht GAA Dome was the scene of a shock in the quarter-finals, as London bested Kevin McStay's men by a single point.
