Five-year extension follows historic All-Ireland victory as the partnership enters a new chapter

Portwest and Mayo GAA have announced the renewal of their partnership until 2030, extending a relationship first established in 2021.

The agreement reflects Portwest’s longstanding commitment to supporting Mayo and its communities.

The renewal comes following Mayo’s historic All-Ireland Senior Football Championship victory, which ended a 75-year wait for the Sam Maguire Cup to return to the county.

Portwest said it had been proud to support Mayo GAA throughout the journey and to share in a moment of enormous pride for the county.

Cathal Hughes, Chairman of Portwest, said the company was delighted to continue its association with Mayo GAA.

“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Mayo GAA through to 2030. As a company with deep roots in Mayo, this is a partnership we are incredibly proud of,” he said.

“To have supported Mayo on their journey and witnessed the Sam Maguire return home after 75 years was a truly special moment for everyone in the county. We look forward to continuing our support and being part of an exciting future for Mayo GAA.”

Mayo GAA CEO Ruairí Conroy also welcomed the extension, describing Portwest as a valued supporter since 2021.

He said the renewal represented a strong vote of confidence in the direction of Mayo GAA and highlighted the shared connection between both organisations and the communities they serve.

“From our clubs and volunteers to our county teams, there is a huge amount of work happening every week across Mayo GAA, and strong long-term partners like Portwest help us continue to invest in that future,” he said.

Mr Conroy said winning the Sam Maguire had been an extraordinary moment for Mayo, but added that the focus was now on building on that success.

“We are very proud that Portwest will continue to be part of that journey with us for years to come,” he said.

The renewed partnership will see Portwest continue supporting GAA across Mayo, from grassroots clubs and volunteers to county teams competing at the highest level.

Both organisations said they looked forward to building on their relationship and supporting the continued development of Gaelic games throughout the county until 2030.
