Paddington Bear back in Westport after beauty treatment and restoration

The much-loved Paddington Bear statue on the Fairgreen in Westport has returned from a “little rest, relaxation, and refurbishment.”

Cllr Brendan Mulroy recently announced that Paddington Bear was heading off for “some beauty treatments and some TLC” last week as part of planned maintenance to ensure the attraction remains in top condition for visitors and residents alike.

Unveiled in October 2024, the Paddington Bear statue has become a landmark for the West Mayo town.

The bear is one a trail of statues dotted throughout the UK and Ireland, which celebrated the release of the film ‘Paddington in Peru’.
