A man in his sixties has drowned at sea off the North West coast.
Gardaí and local emergency services were called to an incident at Marameelan, Dungloe, County Donegal shortly before 8pm on Monday
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed a man, aged in his 60s, had encountered difficulty while in the water at the location and that he was subsequently taken from the water. "He was later pronounced deceased,” they stated.

Arrangements are being made made for a post-mortem examination to be carried out and the local coroner has been notified of the man's death.
Investigations into what happened are ongoing.
