Mayo is in the top five luckiest counties
Mayo has come out among the top four luckiest counties for lottery winners, celebrating nearly €600,000 in scratch card prizes.
This comes as new data from Betway explores which Irish counties are home to the most scratch card and jackpot lottery winners
Around one point two million people across Ireland play the National Lottery each week, with 40 percent of Irish adults participating regularly.
As millions chase the dream of striking it rich, new data from Betway revealed which counties boast the highest number of lucky winners.
Taking into account various locations across Ireland, the research delves into which areas are home to the most jackpot and scratch card winners, how much money people have won, as well as wins per 100,000 people.
Topping the list with the most wins per 100,000 people was Louth, with an impressive 64 overall wins per 100,000 residents.
Donegal followed with 60 overall wins per 100,000 people, with Carlow falling third with 58 overall wins per 100,000 people.
Mayo broke the top five, ranking fourth with 50 overall winners per 100,000.
