Happy Couple Dick and Maura Gibbons.
A popular couple from Partry recently celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary. Richard (Dick) and Maura Gibbons were joined by a large crowd of family and friends at their home in Gallagh in Partry last weekend to mark the milestone occasion. Dick was also celebrating his 80th birthday.
Dick Gibbons married Maura Duffy in St Patrick's Church in Killawalla on August 9, 1974 and a special Mass was held in their home on Saturday, August 10, where the couple renewed their wedding vows. The Mass was said by Fr Jarlath Heraty.
They were joined by their three sons, Martin, Michael and Gerard, their three wives, Angela, Maria and Michelle, five grandchildren, extended members of the Gibbons and Duffy family and a wide circle of friends from Mayo and further afield.
After the Mass, a delicious meal was provided on site and music went on well into the evening thanks to Brendan Duignan and a whole hosts of other guests. The happy couple are wished many more married years of health and happiness.
