Stella Maris Shore House welcomed the Ballycastle community with a local art exhibition and open house event.
Rolf Siegrist, a passionate Swiss native and the visionary owner of the newly reopened Stella Maris Shore House in Ballycaslte, extended the invitation to locals and visitors alike to rediscover the timeless charm of this historic property.
Mr Siegrist welcomed the community, embracing his vision of inclusivity. He described the event as ‘a lovely opportunity to toast to new beginnings and celebrate the support and camaraderie that have made this journey possible’.
At the heart of Stella Maris lies a dedication to preserving its rich heritage, inviting guests to step back in time and experience the allure of the mid-1800s.

The hotel currently hosts an exclusive exhibition showcasing the exquisite paintings of renowned Swiss artist Emmanuel Matt, who also attended the official opening.
Housed within the conservatory, Mr Matt’s masterpieces captivate visitors with their beauty and depth. Additionally, his intricate drawings adorn the walls of the bar and lounge, creating a captivating ambiance for patrons to indulge in.
Mr Matt, who resides and creates in the scenic surroundings of Doonfeeney, Co Mayo near Ballycastle, infuses his art with a profound connection to nature and culture, reflecting the essence of Ireland’s rugged landscape.
Mairead Melody Carr from Mayo North Tourism highlighted that while accommodation is Mr Siegrist's primary focus, ‘he's eager for Stella Maris to integrate into the local community’.
She continued: “The vision is for it to serve as a hub where locals can drop by to enjoy art exhibitions, yoga sessions, or simply relax with tea and scones in the conservatory. It's not just a hotel; it's about fully immersing the business within the community, which is lovely for the community of Ballycastle and beyond”.
For those seeking a blend of history, art, and hospitality, Stella Maris Shore House promises an unforgettable experience.
