A rare and exciting opportunity for Mayo jazz lovers to witness some of Ireland’s leading talents in collaboration with one of America’s great modern jazz musicians – grab it with both hands…

Ciara Moynihan
The Kevin Brady Trio is playing this this Thursday, May 14, at the Plaza Hotel, Westport. The gig is part of the trio’s nationwide tour to promote the release of their new album, Zeitgeist, this month. The album, produced by Irish music collective The Living Room Project Music, was recorded in Dublin in December 2008 and mixed and mastered by leading German sound engineer Thomas Schmidt. Jazz drummer and composer Kevin Brady is a member of two of the most successful jazz groups in Irish Jazz, Organics and the Phil Ware Trio, while bassist Dave Redmond is one of the most in-demand bassists in the country. Both have performed with many of the world’s leading jazz artists. Multi-award-winning Bill Carrothers will need no introduction to many jazz aficionados. Described by the Chigaco Tribune as “a relentlessly inventive pianist with harmonic sophistication that has to be heard to be believed,” he has wowed audiences all over the world. The Plaza gig represents a rare and exciting opportunity for Mayo jazz lovers to witness some of Ireland’s leading talents in collaboration with one of America’s great modern jazz musicians – grab it with both hands…
