Crews are working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.
Customers south of Westport town in Aughagower, Lankill, Lanmore, Liscarney, Cushlough and those supplied by Brackloon Group Water Scheme have been experiencing outages due to recent weather events. Especially since storm Isha hit the county.
Power has been restored in the area and dedicated water services crews have been mobilised and are currently working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.
To support impacted customers, an alternative water supply is available in Aughagower. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil the water before consumption as a precautionary measure, per Health Service Executive advice.
Colette Scahill, Water Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann, thanked customers for their patience as crews work to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.
She also appealed to homes and businesses across the county to conserve water as Uisce Éireann are recharging a number of supplies which experienced outages.
“When water supplies return, we appeal to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths, and to postpone dishwasher and washing machine use where possible. This will help ensure a normal water supply returns to all customers as quickly as possible” said Scahill.
