€200,000 of cannabis plants seized in The Neale

GROW HOUSE The Gardaí have released this picture of cannabis plants discovered yesterday at the property in The Neale.

GARDAI from the Divisional Drugs Unit in Castlebar have arrested a man in his 50s following the discovery of a grow house containing an estimated €200,000 worth of cannabis plants (pending analysis) in The Neale, outside Ballinrobe.
As part of an ongoing operation in the Mayo area, Gardaí carried out a search at a house in The Neale yesterday (Wednesday), April 5, and discovered 261 cannabis plants at various stages of growth. During the course of the search, Gardaí also recovered various items of drugs paraphernalia.
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Castlebar Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
