The fourth annual Kiltimagh one-act Drama Festival will be held in the Town Hall Theatre over the October Bank Holiday weekend

THE fourth annual Kiltimagh one-act Drama Festival will be held in the Town Hall Theatre over the October Bank Holiday weekend. Three players will be staged each night and patrons are in for feast of drama once again.
The official opening will be performed by Tom Moriarty from James Street, Kiltimagh, who has long association with Kiltimagh Drama Group going back to the 1960s. He is a former chairman of Kiltimagh Drama Society and also featured on stage for several of their productions in the 1960s and 70s. Tom, a native of Kilmovee, has been an integral part of the Kiltimagh community for the last five decades.
Iggy Bowens is Festival Director and has expressed delight with the interest in the festival and the quality of plays that will be staged in the Town Hall Theatre.
Clann Machua from Kiltimagh will present their play, ‘The Shadow of the Glen’, on the opening night, Friday, October 28. The cast features Henry Kelly and Brian Cunningham, two well experienced actors, and Mary Brennan and Eric Eaton, both of whom are making their stage debut with Clann Machua.
The director of The Shadow of the Glen, a John Millington-Synge classic, is Adrian Lavan who has been involved with Clann Machua as an actor for the last four years. Set Design and production is by Jody Durcan, Sandra Jennings is in charge of lighting and the stage crew are Tony Kelly and John Curry.

The full line-up for the Festival is: Friday, October 28: Parke Drama Group - A Galway Girl (confined); The Breffni Players, Carrick-on-Shannon - Lucy In the Sky (open), Clann Machua Kiltimagh - The Shadow of the Glen (confined). Saturday, October 29: Ballina Drama Group - Lone Star (confined); Seamus O’Kelly Players, Loughrea - The Wooden Pear (confined); Skull Drama Group - Looking for a Mate (open).
Sunday, October 30: Glenamaddy Drama Group - The Problem (confined); Castlewood Players, Cratloe - Faint Voices (confined); No Drama Theatre, Dublin - Hardboiled (open).
Tickets are €10, a special weekend ticket for all nine plays is also on sale for only €20 and they can be purchased on the door or from Langan’s Off-licence. Curtain up each night is at 8pm. For further information call 087 7510038.
