Westport-Dublin train times change from October 18

Iarnród Éireann announces shorter early-bird train journey times on Westport to Dublin route to start next week
Alterations to early bird trains
IARNRÓD Éireann will introduce a number of service alterations to its schedule from October 18 next. These alterations will dramatically improve journey times to a number of services on a number of routes. Customers should be advised that certain trains will have different than previously advertised departure times. The 5.15am Westport Heuston service will have altered times at intermediate stations. It will call at Castlebar at 5.27am, Claremorris at 5.46am, Ballyhaunis at 5.58am, Castlerea at 6.11am, Roscommon at 06:30, Athlone at 06:54, Clara at 07:11, Tullamore at 07:20, Portarlington at 7.39am, Monasterevin at 7.46am, Kildare at 7.55am, Newbridge at 8.02am, Hazelhatch at 8.19am arriving at Heuston at 8.38am. This is a reduction of 12 minutes on the journey time. These changes are designed to improve journey times at peak intercity travel times for customers providing an even better service.
