The ban comes in the wake of alleged incidents of anti-social behaviour from a number of students in a December game between the school and Saint Gerald’s College, Castlebar.

In the clash, in Ballinrobe’s Flanagan Park on December 18, 2024, Ballinrobe Community School emerged with a 2-18 to 2-15 win.

The CEO of Connacht GAA, John Prenty, revealed to the Mayo News on December 31 that Saint Gerald’s College lodged a complaint via email regarding the alleged behaviour.

The ban means that the South Mayo school will forfeit home advantage for their next two home ties.

Last year, the school played one home game in the group stages of the competition.
