Water supply has been restored in Castlebar after overnight repair by Uisce Eireann crews.
Uisce Eireann confirms water supply has been restored to homes and businesses in parts of Castlebar after crews completed overnight repairs to a burst water main.
Approximately 400 customers in the Pontoon Road, Ross and Crimlin areas experienced disruption on Wednesday evening after the main burst, prompting an emergency response from Uisce Éireann crews.
Teams worked through the night to locate and repair the damaged pipe, with the work completed at around 3am on Thursday morning. Supply has since returned to normal levels across the affected areas.
Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience during the disruption and praised the crews who carried out the repair work.
“This was a significant burst which required crews to work long into the night in difficult weather conditions. We acknowledge the impact that unplanned outages can have on our customers and we want to thank impacted homes and businesses for the understanding while repairs were underway,” she said.

The burst had also prompted traffic management measures outside Sacred Heart Hospital on the Pontoon Road while the works were carried out.
