The local community of Ballina is in mourning following the tragic deaths of Padraic Tuffy (19) and Cian Farrell (18), who passed away following a road accident on Sunday morning.
Funeral arrangements have been announced for Padraic Tuffy, of Adara House, Station Road, Ballina, one of two young men who tragically lost their lives in a road traffic collision on Sunday, March 1.
He was among five occupants in a single-vehicle collision on the L5140 local road at Laghtadawannagh, near Ballina, shortly after 4.15am. He was pronounced deceased at the scene alongside 18-year-old Cian Farrell, also from Ballina whose funeral arrangements were announced earlier today. Three other passengers were taken to Mayo University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Padraic, the beloved eldest son of Seamus and Caroline, and a devoted big brother to Matthew and Kirsten.
Predeceased by his grandparents Padraic and Maureen Tuffy, Padraic is survived by his heartbroken parents, his brother and sister, his grandparents Michael and Chrissie Kelly, his extended family, and a large circle of friends.
Reposing will take place at McGowan's Funeral Home, Ballina (Eircode: F26 V274) on Thursday, March 5, from 5pm to 7pm.
His funeral cortège will arrive to St Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina on Friday, March 6, for Requiem Mass at 11.30am, followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery.
