The 'dog days are over' - Mayo county champs go mad in dressing room

There were scenes of madness in the Davitts dressing room after they won the Mayo GAA intermediate football championship, beating Ballinrobe in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park Castlebar.
It was to be expected, that the celebrations would be phenomenal. Colm Boyle, who was part of the All-Ireland winning management team this summer, came off the bench but had a crucial impact.
Up front, the three Treacy brothers Niall, Shane and Ciarán, wreaked havoc. It was a game of a well oiled offensive machine, Davitts, and a strong defensive unit, Ballinrobe.
In this case, the attacking display combined with the ‘Boyle-factor’ in the backs, carried the day.
The scenes afterwards in the Davitts dressing room are an instant classic.
Have a look yourself:
The players showed how they knew the lyrics from Florence and the Machine’s smash hit ‘Dog days are over’.
The song isn’t new, but it encapsulates the feeling of Mayo’s famous All-Ireland win.
The song was belted out in Croke Park by the Mayo fans, the crowd went ballistic.
And the same happened in the Davitts dressing room. Legendary stuff.
