The trio performed admirably in Mayo’s narrow win over Monaghan to progress in the All-Ireland series
Three Mayo GAA stars have seen their stellar displays in their side’s All-Ireland Championship win over Monaghan rewarded with selection in the GAA.ie Team of the Week.
The trio shone as Andy Moran’s side progressed to the next round with a narrow one-point win in Clones.
We’ll start with the man between the sticks, Jack Livingstone. On his Championship debut, the Breaffy net-minder pulled off a string of impressive saves to help weather the Farney comeback.
Up next is the Crossmolina teenage sensation, Kobe McDonald. The Australia-bound youngster notched 1-4 on the day, but that only tells part of the story, as his mighty fetch near the end was imperative in securing the win.
Lastly is the man Mayo look to so often. Ryan O’Donoghue was his usual free-scoring self, and rightly picked up man of the match in a stellar showing which also saw him nominated for GAA.ie Player of the Week.
