Kobe McDonald's Mayo classmates to feature on RTÉ Six One News
Students from Gortnor Abbey secondary school assist Marty Morrisey for preview of All-Ireland final
All eyes from Crossmolina and surrounding areas will be glued to RTÉ this evening as Marty Morrisey visited the area to sample the atmosphere ahead of this Sunday's All-Ireland final against Kerry.
Marty Morrissey’s pre-match report was filmed beside the school on the beautiful shores of Lough Conn.
The school shared the news on their social media platforms: “Some of our students had the wonderful opportunity to assist Marty during the recording and even got to act as his mascots – an experience they’ll never forget!
“The feature is especially meaningful for our school community as it celebrates Leaving Cert student Kobe Mc Donald and past pupil Conor Loftus who will proudly represent Mayo in this weekend’s All-Ireland Senior Football Final.
“In his report, Marty reflects on Mayo’s proud football tradition, their three All-Ireland titles, the last in 1951, and the hope that this weekend could signal the start of a new era for Mayo football.
“Everyone here at the school is immensely proud of Kobe and Conor. We wish them and Jordan Flynn of Crossmolina Deel Rovers, their teammates and all involved with Mayo GAA the very best of luck on Sunday.”
