Supporters told to plan ahead for what Irish Rail say will be a very busy weekend

Irish Rail have today issued a statement regarding their operations this weekend ahead of the All-Ireland football final between Mayo and Kerry at Croke Park on Sunday.

Irish Rail issued this statement this morning: “Our services will be very busy, and many trains are now sold out.

“To help everyone enjoy a safe and comfortable journey, please remember:

  • Book Online in advance to travel on your preferred service
  • Travel on your booked train. Services are planned around customer bookings, so please travel on the train shown on your ticket
  • No tickets will be available at the station for sold-out services. If a train is fully booked, additional tickets cannot be purchased on the day.
  • Alcohol is prohibited on event services. Any alcohol brought onto trains or station premises will be confiscated by security staff before boarding.

“Please allow extra time for your journey, check the latest travel information before you travel, and follow the guidance of station staff.

“Planning ahead and travelling on your booked service helps us keep services running safely and efficiently for everyone.

“Good luck to Kerry and Mayo from Iarnród Éireann.”
