Supporters will flock to Croke Park for the Sam Maguire duel with Kerry

Mayo fans who are undecided on how they will make their way to the All-Ireland final have been hit with a serious boost, as Irish Rail has announced another route to Dublin on the day of the decider.

Train tickets for existing trains servicing the county and the capital were snapped up in seconds, as supporters scramble to be in Croke Park to see Andy Moran’s side in action on the big day.

However, those heading from the north of the county will have another chance to snatch train tickets as the national rail network revealed another way to the capital, albeit from Sligo.

The service will depart Sligo train station at 8:30 am on Sunday, July 26. Those booking tickets back are asked to note that the 6:15 pm service to Sligo is departing from Drumcondra rather than Connolly Station.

Irish Rail is working to establish if they can operate one further return special from Westport.

Tickets for the new Sligo-Dublin train and the return route can be purchased by clicking here.

Mayo and Kerry will clash in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final in Croke Park at 3.30 pm on Sunday, July 26.
