Natural horsemanship workshop to take place on Mayo beach

Experienced Mayo trainer Paul Walker to host unique Wild Atlantic Way event this August
Horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn the principles of natural horsemanship at a special workshop on Mulranny Beach, led by experienced Mayo horse trainer Paul Walker.
Hosted by Wild Atlantic Horsemanship, the Natural Horsemanship Workshop will take place on Saturday, August 8, from 10.30am, in the scenic surroundings of Mulranny Beach on the Wild Atlantic Way.
Based in Newport, Paul Walker has more than 30 years’ experience working with horses and has developed a training philosophy centred on respect and trust. His approach focuses on understanding a horse’s natural instincts and behaviour rather than relying on force.
Inspired by the horse-centred principles associated with internationally renowned trainer John Lyons, Walker’s methods emphasise clear communication, patience and consistency to build trust between horse and handler.
Through Wild Atlantic Horsemanship, he works with horse owners and riders to strengthen their partnership with their horses by improving their understanding of equine behaviour and communication.
“Good horsemanship is built on leadership, respect and trust,” Walker said. “When a horse understands you and trusts you, training becomes clearer, safer and better for both horse and handler.”
Set against the backdrop of one of Mayo’s most picturesque beaches, the workshop is designed for anyone interested in developing their horsemanship skills in a relaxed and practical environment.
Places are limited, and organisers are encouraging early booking. Those wishing to attend can contact Paul Walker on 087 4402220 or email [email protected] for further information.
