Additional water samples to be taken at Mulranny Beach as Mayo County Council extends Do Not Swim notice

Mayo County Council has confirmed that the Bathing Prohibition – Do Not Swim notice for Mulranny Beach will remain in place until further notice.

The prohibition, which was first issued on Thursday, July 16, remains in effect as the council continues to monitor water quality at the popular Blue Flag beach.

Additional water samples are scheduled to be taken on Monday, July 20.

A further update will be issued once the test results have been received and assessed.

The public is advised to not enter the water at Mulranny Beach and continue observing the Do Not Swim notice until Mayo County Council confirms that it is safe to return to the water.
