Normal water supply is set to return to Westport customers this evening (Wednesday, January, 28).
Uisce Éireann crews have identified the root of a supply disruption affecting a small number of customers in the Quays area of Westport.
Following reports of an outage, crews isolated a burst and reconfigured the network. The number of customers has reduced to approximately twenty.

Crews are currently repairing the burst and expect to complete works later this evening.
Uisce Éireann has said it typically takes two to three hours after repairs for the network to recharge, but it may take longer for a normal supply to return to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Ronan McDonnell assured those affected that crews are progressing with the repair works.
“We understand how inconvenient a burst can be for homes and business and our crews are on the ground, and a full water supply is expected to return to the customers affected this evening.”
