As part of our recap of the many stories from Mayo in 2025, we will be posting some of the stories that performed best across The Mayo News site this year.
Here is a story that generated a lot of interest in June.
There will be a few familiar faces missing from the staff of The Quay National School in Westport when students return for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Teachers Annin Groonell, Ann Lally and Stephanie Hope are retiring when this school year finishes and together they have a combined total of 82 years service.
Their families and colleagues all came together at The Castlecourt Hotel in Westport to celebrate their long service in education.
