A Status Orange weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann for Mayo
MAYO is set to be rocked by strong winds and rain as Storm Darragh is due to make landfall along the western seaboard.
A status yellow wind warning will be in place in Mayo from 1pm bringing strong and very gutsy north to northwest winds. Met Éireann have warned of falling branches, localised debris, difficult travelling conditions in affected areas.
A status Orange weather warning is effective from 10 pm on Friday, November 6 for Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Kerry, Clare and Galway until 9 am on Saturday, November 7.

This may cause fallen trees, damage to power lines, very difficult travelling conditions, damage to temporary structures and wave overtopping.
Mayo County Council have urged the public to exercise caution while the weather warnings are in place.
