Former Mayo GAA Secretary Dermot Butler will contest the upcoming County Convention
MAYO GAA may be set for a shake-up with news that Dermot Butler is looking to regain a place at the top table. The Crossmolina clubman will contest the Vice-Chairman's position at the upcoming County Convention in Ballina on December 8.
Butler was County Secretary for a five-year period up to 2022, during which he also filled the role of liaison-officer with the Mayo senior team. At the end of his tenure he was nominated to contest one of the positions on the Connacht Council, but wasn't one of the three delegates selected at the 2022 County Convention in Claremorris.
Now, the well-known former official is looking to return to the engine-room of Mayo GAA and regain a place on the Executive.
"I feel I have a lot to offer Mayo GAA and look forward to speaking with all the delegates over the next few weeks before the convention in Ballina," Butler told The Mayo News.
