Mayo runner and her school team win gold at cross country All-Ireland championships

The Sacred Heart School Westport team.

A Mayo school team has won the intermediate cross country gold medal.

Sacred Heart School Westport have done it again. They are All-Ireland champions.

First, Freya Renton secured individual gold, notably the fastest female of the day over the course, followed by her sister Holly Renton in fourth position.

Their team mates Emma McGing, May Duckett, Aoibhinn McNamara, Lauren Clarke, May Clarken and Matilda Moran followed them home and secured team gold.

It's a successful way to end Women In Sport week.

Freya Renton picked up an extra trophy - the Rory Friel Memorial Cup - for the best performance of the day. 

Herself and Holly will go to Bangor, Wales, where they will represent Team Ireland in the Schools International Athletics Board (SIAB) event on March 21.
