Donegal Town girl, Grace Masterson (17) represented Ireland over the weekend at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Genoa, Italy. Although from Donegal Town, Grace’s family hails entirely from Erris, with grandparents, Thomas and Grace Garrett (deceased) from Mullaghroe, Belmullet and Noel and Nora Masterson hailing from Ballycroy.
She rows in the U19 Mixed doubles (CJMix2x Category) with Jack Hehir from Rosscarbery in Cork, as Irish National Champions, they qualified to represent Ireland for the World Finals. This was Grace’s third year representing Ireland at the World and European Championships.
Grace was supported at the finals by her parents Helen and Michael, her siblings Chloe and Mikey and her grandparents, Noel and Nora Masterson who travelled from Ballina to Genoa for the occasion. She also received passionate support from her extended family and friends throughout Donegal, Mayo, Sligo and Cork.
