Mayo’s Little Blue Heroes welcomed to Leinster House – PICTURES

Senator Mark Duffy hosted Mayo's Little Blue Heroes in Leinster House this week.

A special Christmas visit began with a police escort into the Kildare Street side of the house with three roads closed to allow the motorcade guide the Honorary Gardaí into the house.

They were greeted on the steps by Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy and met with Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan and Tánaiste Simon Harris among other Oireachtas members.

It was a joyful occasion for the families who were given VIP treatment by the staff and members of Leinster House.

The Little Blue Heroes Foundation’s vision is to support families of children with serious illnesses in Ireland while empowering the lives of children through positive community engagement.

Our mission is to provide practical and financial support to families of children who have serious illnesses in Ireland while granting the wish of the children we support to become Honorary Gardaí to empower the child and foster positive engagement with An Garda Síochána.
