Calling all volunteers

Fancy becoming an Achill Half Marathon volunteer? The next meeting is on June 28 in Ted Lavelle’s
Calling all volunteers

The Achill Half-Marathon wouldn’t happen each year without the behind-the-scenes efforts of an army of local volunteers. Last year, more than 200 gave up the first Saturday in July to ensure the event met the high standards participants have come to expect.
The call is now out for volunteers for this year, many of whom have already committed their support on the day.
A meeting of all volunteers will take place in Ted Lavelle’s on Tuesday next, June 28. Team leaders should attend at 7.30, with all remaining volunteers to gather at 8.30.
All support is very much appreciated.
Athletes of the future to get some practice in
While their parents are completing the gruelling 13-mile run, budding young athletes can get some tips for their own future, thanks to Achill Athletics Club and McDonald’s.
The local athletics club will deliver a child-centered Athletics Ireland McDonald’s Little Athletics Programme - a specially-tailored series of agility, speed and balance challenges that has proved hugely popular with children all over the country.
Check out the Little Athletics Programme on the day and keep your young stars occupied, while also honing their athletic skills.
